The Fruits (and Vegetables) of Our Labor

Posted by Steve Greco on

"Each year, Labor Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions that working men and women make to our nation, our economy and our collective prosperity. It gives us a chance to show gratitude for workers' grit, dedication, ingenuity and strength, which define our nation's character."

Thomas E. Perez

American Politician, Former US Secretary of Labor

With the last holiday of summer upon us, Labor Day gives us not only a long weekend, but a chance to reflect upon what Labor Day represents. Not only does it serve as a reminder of all the hard earned progress during the American labor movement, Labor Day also honors contributions workers have made to the economy, laws, and overall prosperity of the United States. We here in the North Country certainly know about putting in hard work, and would like to say thanks to all those workers who help contribute to our area, making it such a great place to live. A special shoutout goes to all of our local farmers who work tirelessly to get fresh, local, delicious produce to not only us at Big Spoon Kitchen, but to our entire community. Without them, it would certainly be more difficult to do what we do here at Big Spoon, and the community's on going support for them is one of the things we think makes the North Country special. Again, thank you to all the hard workers out there helping to make our local community stronger. You can be sure that we are working hard to feed all of you in the North Country with the bounty and opportunities you all provide!
